There is a care reaction on facebook that wasn’t available B.C. (Before Corona). Now you can like, love, care, HAHA, WOW, sad, angry something

Profile picture published by me 18 June, 2020.

Ninety-three users write I like your photo, I like you, I like, liking, while fourty-one write I love your photo, I love you, I love, loving. There are two WOWs: two I WOW your photo, I WOW you, I WOW, WOWING and then three Cares: I care your photo, I care you, I care, caring… There is just one lone angrying… and zero HAHAs

Haha.

To anger a photo is to demonstrate another level of closeness.

Only the most trusted can use the ‘angry’ in a funny way,

It’s a code-emotion to gesture towards another one un-provided by the options.

My best friend angries everything I post to take the edge off things and

Maybe,

to re-affirm our closeness.

A few years ago my profile photo had 128 likes, 49 loves, 9 WOWs, 1 sad, 2 angries. I think maybe my relationship circles were wider, sillier, more fluid. It was university times.

Friends threw me a surprise birthday party with a life sized piñata

of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I lived in a house with eight people by the river and it was always messy and there were constant squabbles over olives and flakes of garlic.

There is a girl I really fancy who loves my photos all the time.

Nice haircut and hat sometimes.

She sits across from me in the British library – Maybe loving behind her screen

There is nothing sexy about this.

I promise you.

Don’t make me explain it, but there is just nothing sexy about it.

There is just something far more sexy about I like,

a restrained acknowledgement.

Not too heavy-handed, someone telling you they like your haircut, while biting their nails. Looking away - clunks of nails in their teeth.
